BERGER MATCH VLD BULLETS
NOW OFFERED IN NEW PACKAGING

Signature Yellow Turns to Blaze Orange to Help Educate Hunters.

Fullerton, California (April 24, 2007) – Hunters have been told for years that Match Grade bullets are not effective for big game hunting.  While this is true with most Match Grade bullets, it has been proven that the Berger Match VLDs are one of the most lethal and accurate hunting bullets available.  To help educate hunters, Berger Bullets is changing the color of their 6mm and larger VLD boxes from their signature yellow to blaze orange.

"Nothing says, ‘good for hunting’ like blaze orange.  The Berger Match VLD bullets are proving to be a top choice among those who have tested it in the field on big game.” says Eric Stecker, Master Bulletsmith.  The Match VLD in the blaze orange boxes are the same bullets used by serious competition shooters all over the world.

Berger’s reputation for producing accurate bullets is well known.  Combined with their unique terminal performance of the Berger Match VLD, you have an extremely deadly hunting bullet. The VLD (Very Low Drag) design incorporates specific features that creates a bullet with a higher than normal BC.  The primary design feature is a secant ogive.  This sharp nose shape allows the VLD to shoot flatter and be less affected by wind.  Berger also discovered the secant ogive gives VLD’s the ability to penetrate from 1 to 3 inches in animals before they start to expand.  The delayed expansion allows VLD’s to open up deep inside vital organs creating a devastating wound cavity.  This massive organ damage is too much for animals to handle most often resulting in fast, one shot kills.

For several years hunters have been using the Match VLD bullets and are reporting great results.  Until now, no one had enough corroborative data to understand why they worked so well.  After nearly 2 years of field studies, not only was the “Delayed Expansion” confirmed, the animals taken were put down decisively and humanely.  The data was added to a growing list of evidence that continues to pour in from hunters everywhere. The Match VLD has been proven in the field and in The Bullet Test Tube,  www.thebullettesttube.com.
