THE TEACHER SENT A NOTE HOME
Princeton, West Virginia (June 29, 2007) – Ballistic Technology recently received a letter from a teacher in Akron, Ohio.
“I would like to thank you for your generous donation of several units of your Bullet Test Tube products. Your donation has been invaluable for the teaching of ballistics to my high school forensics classes this year.
Previously, I had the difficult task of demonstrating the effect of bullets using products like ballistics gel, whose properties do not retain the wound tract and is not easy to use at a variety of temperatures. Your product resolved this issue and made my job as an educator far easier.
Students were able to grasp the differences between common calibers, designs, and velocities by examining the tubes for volume, initial expansion, terminal expansion, depth of penetration, retained weight and diameter. Students were able to compare bullets for rifling characteristics, which are used to uniquely identify a bullet to a gun, gun to a bullet or bullet to bullet.
Even our Resource Officer from the Akron Police Department, who regularly assists with topics in my class, was impressed with it’s [the TUBE’s] potential and is recommending it to their Armory Officer for evaluation. Thank you for inventing and producing such a valuable tool for evaluating the performance of bullets as well as evaluating them for forensic value.”
